Your Business Voice Matters.
Decisions made at City Hall, in Olympia and across our region affect the cost of doing business, your workforce, public safety, transportation, growth and economic opportunity. The Kent Chamber works to make sure the business community has a voice in those conversations.
Advocacy Is a Core Chamber Function.
We connect the experiences of businesses with the people making decisions that affect our economy. Our advocacy is focused on creating conditions where businesses can operate, compete, hire, invest and grow.
Listen
We listen to employers and business owners to understand the challenges, opportunities and policy issues affecting their organizations.
Inform
We help members stay informed about legislation, regulations and public-policy conversations that may affect doing business.
Connect
We create opportunities for businesses to engage with elected officials, public agencies and regional leaders.
Advocate
We elevate business concerns and advocate for policies that support economic vitality and a competitive business environment.
Our Advocacy Focus
Specific legislation changes from year to year, but these issues consistently affect the ability of businesses and communities to thrive.
Public & Business Safety
Support practical solutions that improve safety for employees, customers, business owners and commercial districts.
Competitive Business Climate
Advocate for a tax and regulatory environment that allows businesses to remain competitive, invest and grow.
Small Business
Elevate the needs of small employers and entrepreneurs when regulations, costs or policies disproportionately affect their ability to operate.
Workforce & Education
Support strong workforce pipelines, career-connected learning, training and education that help employers find skilled workers.
Transportation & Infrastructure
Advocate for infrastructure that supports workers, freight mobility, commerce and continued economic development throughout the region.
Housing & Economic Vitality
Recognize the connection between attainable housing, workforce availability and the long-term economic competitiveness of our region.
Government Affairs Committee
The Kent Chamber Government Affairs Committee brings members together to discuss legislation, regulations and public-policy issues affecting the business community. This is where member experience helps inform the Chamber's advocacy work.
Learn about emerging policy issues and how they may affect employers and businesses.
Bring real-world business experience into conversations about proposed policies and regulations.
Participate in conversations with elected officials, public agencies and regional partners.
A Stronger Voice Through Regional Partnership
The Kent Chamber is part of the South Sound Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition (SSCCLC), which brings together Chambers representing businesses across South King County and North and East Pierce County. By working together, local Chambers can carry a stronger and more coordinated business voice into regional and state policy discussions.

Is a Policy or Government Issue Affecting Your Business?
Tell us. We may not be able to solve every issue, but we cannot advocate around challenges we don't know businesses are experiencing. Share what is happening, how it is affecting your organization and what you believe decision-makers need to understand.
